Repeated friction, snagging on hook-and-loop fasteners or branches, and contact with hard objects can damage the fabric. Knit fabrics also tend to shrink with repeated use and washing. Tumble drying, in particular, can cause significant shrinkage, so it should be avoided at all costs.
